Abstract


It is known that communication is needed and beign used in every field of life from times of existence of mankind until today.

Graphic designs can be defined as the most efficient tool providing contemporary communication as by the develop of the technology, we are living the golden times of the communication periods. Posers are the most important graphic product that provides communication. Posters that we run into during our day life are defined as the graphic objects that generally helps to get information about a property, a service, a thought or an announcement.

Election posters, a kind of political posters, are beter known as the posters that are used in the campaigns and aimed to the voters so any party can gain votes from them.

By this reason, in general the message transmission, the most specific characteristic of the posters, is valid for the political posters as well and it is pre conditioned by transmitting the message directly to the aimed people. Because of this reason, the image, typography and slogan must be selected carefully paralel to the political line of any political party x.

In this study, some of the posters which had been used after the T.R.N.C  1983 elections were examined by semiotics and the posters which were used within the framework and lines of the involved parties was searched to that extend they were successful.
