Abstract


This paper, through a theoretical and research approach, aims to highlight the complexity of transformation of the cities of the 21st century and the role of urban science education in this process. Global cultural policy is reflected in local urban environments, requiring a higher level of mutual interactions. (Trans) Urban science education is here recognized as an important mechanism for city regeneration in the context of global cultural processes. Transformation of the role of local policy in the global cultural scene directly reflects on the city as a local spatial and cultural environment and it implies the transformation of local urban values. The paper will point out the need to redefine urban science education in (trans) urban educational practice, that will be prepared to respond to the challenges of the age of information. The paper will clarify the issue of the phenomenon of "(Trans) urban’ science education, definitions of criteria and parameters for implementation in order to develop the city as a network of creative industries, which is required in the age of information
