Abstract

Today's students who are studying for the teaching profession are members of the digital generation. Since future teachers are the members of the digital generation, the authors are interested to find out what students (future teachers) consider as essential teaching competencies necessary for their future teaching profession and if they think that competencies which are developed in existing curricula should be further developed according to modern educational trends. The sample selected for the study was a sample of the students of humanities and social sciences who are studying at the masters level for teachers on the Faculty of humanities and social sciences University of Zagreb, largest teaching faculty in Republic of Croatia.
