Abstract


This study is based on a stylistic analysis of the poem ‘ A Red Red Rose’ written by the  famous romantic poet Robert Burns.  The aim of the  article is to clear up the secret substance of the poem’s petty lines. The analysis is made on the graphological, phonological, morphological and semantic level to analyze how the poet wants to convey his feelings by presenting  some higlighted words about his lover.  Stylistic techniques and methods are used to reveal the secret beauty of the poet’s  feelings. Because stylistics is the study of different devices used in language in order to give expressiveness and literary style, this article expresses  the hidden meaning of this important poem.  As a result, the stylistic devices used in this poem are the figures of speech which will enhance the value of the poetry at reader’s mind.
